Sounds like several SD Republican Bloggers went to Superman tonight

Sounds like Schaff and Blanchard over at SDP went to Superman tonight as well.

I enjoyed it. Kevin Spacey was MUCH better than I thought he'd be as Lex Luthor. In fact, he may have played it better than Gene Hackman, who had a tendency to be campy. And Parker Posey was also a better henchman for him than Valerie Perrine. And the new Superman was pretty decent as well.

I thought Kate Bosworth stunk. As Lois Lane, she definitely couldn't hold a candle to Margot Kidder, which surprised me because she was good in "Beyond the Sea."

Alternately, it got a little "relationshippy" and melancholy at times, but all in all, I don't consider it a waste of money.

Although, there's no way my 4 year old is going to sit through 2 1/2 hours of it. He was bouncing off the seats during the last 1/2 hour of Cars (which I also enjoyed).

Thumbs up - and now we return you back to your regularly scheduled politics.

It's about health, not potential promiscuity.

As the only South Dakota blogger out with 5 daughters, I feel I need to weigh in on the whole discussion that's occurring with regards to the HPV vaccine, and Governor Rounds' proposal to make it available. My family (including my three oldest girls) watched my mom, their grandmother, succumb slowly and painfully to cancer which spread throughout her body. If a similar fate from a different type of cancer was preventable through a simple shot, why wouldn't anyone advocate for it? At the age most of my kids are going to be getting it, they're still playing with barbies, and negative influences such as most of the programming on MTV, and other assorted trashy television is verboten in my house. All they're going to know about this vaccination is that it's a shot, just like for teatnus or measles. They'll go "Ow, I don't want a shot," and that will be it. Just another mark on their vaccination record. One check box for DPT, one for HPV, and so on...

Is this a list of who's in and who's out on the impending abortion bill

Here's a hot one - Republican District 6 Representative Kristi Noem sent out an e-mail plea yesterday to people in her District. It regards the abortion measure that I've noted is going to be filed in the legislature, supposedly by Representative Gordon Howie. Why is this interesting? It contains a run down of (allegedly) who is, and who isn't on board the measure in the senate: Abortion bill update from Rep. Kristi Noem I would like to ask you all to pray. There was an impromptu meeting today of all legislators in the House who have taken a strong pro-life position. One of our house members is considering filing a bill that would ban abortions in the state with exceptions for rape, incest, and for the health of the mother.
