Bill Napoli's Validation, and Chris Nelson is looking mighty pretty nowadays..

A big e-mail went out statewide tonight from State Senator Bill Napoli. In reading the content of the e-mail, I think he's feeling pretty pumped up .
WE ARE ON THE BALLOT!!!!!
WE HAVE JUST BEEN CERTIFIED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE.

WE ARE "AMENDMENT D" AND WE WILL VOTE "YES" ON NOVEMBER 7TH TO STABILIZE OUR ASSESSMENTS AND OUR TAXES!!

SO NOW THE DEBATE BEGINS! WE NEED TO STOP THE RHETORIC FROM THE OPPOSITION, AND WE NEED TO RAISE MONEY TO EDUCATE THE VOTERS. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

WE CAN ACCEPT CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ANYONE INCLUDING CORPORATIONS IN ANY AMOUNT!

We only had a 7% signature invalidation rate! So all of you who carried petitions! You did a GREAT JOB!

CONGRATULATIONS!

WE ARE NOT ONLY MAKING HISTORY IN SOUTH DAKOTA, BUT THIS COULD BE THE START OF A NATIONAL MOVEMENT!

Just think! Grandma and Grandpa can live out their days in the security and comfort of their own homes. That small AG producer no longer will fear Ted Turner and that Small Businessman no longer needs to dread the huge chain stores.

LET'S ROLL!!!!
The STOP Committee
"Let's Roll," indeed. only 7% of their signatures were invalidated. Bill has every right to be excited. They did do a good job with the petitions. Delores Coffing would do well to follow their lessons on the alcohol tax petition she was recently lamenting about. I'd also be interested to see what the signature approval rate is for the other Constitutional Ballot measures.

Want to support the measure? Bill didn't provide the information in his e-mail but you can click here. The website was up once, but is now being completely redesigned for the 2006 fall election. It should be back shortly.

And speaking of the Secretary of State validating the ballot, I popped on their website tonight, and what do I see, but an extreme homesite makeover.

(It must have been my referring to the website lovingly as plain but supremely utilitarian in one of my earliest posts.)

Secretary of State Chris Nelson's website is completely redone and looks very polished. It's graphically pleasing to the eye.

I'm slightly bummed out because I have to figure out where everything is kept all over again. And I can't be without my election data and finance reports. (And note to Chris - check the hyperlinks in the firefox browser - they disappear - I think it's your linked text color).

Otherwise, two big thumbs up on the redesign. It has the SDWC seal of approval.
