In Rapid City, I hear there are things-a-brewing. I’m told today that “Liquor Tax Petition” Pennington County Commissioner Delores Coffing is going to be challenged in the Republican Primary by Rapid City Attorney Ethan Schmidt. If you don’t know him, Ethan is the son of GOP National Committeeman and long-time Republican Ron Schmidt. I consider Ethan a friend, so I’ll be keeping an eye on that race.

I had a call that one of my conservative and hard-charging friends was going to run for a House Seat in District 35. The result when I chased it down? Not True. So far as I know, the only two Republicans running in that House Race are Gordon Pederson and Gordon Howie. But in case anyone sees a petition to the contrary, let me know.

This one hot off the rumor mill from one good source - The word tonight is that Kathy Lucas of Pierre has entered (or will shortly enter) the Republican House Race for District 24. As I'm told, Kathy is supposedly running on a “freedom” platform. Whatever that is. I suspect it's going to put a new spin on the House Race as it creates a primary for GOP House members Ryan Olson and Tim Rounds.

Kathy has been an active participant with the party over the years. From my observations, I suspect her freedom platform will likely place her apart from her opponents as being more liberal on social issues.

Is Kathy that dark haired lady that was running around the halls with pro-abortion literature and flashing a crucifx at people in a wacked out way on the last couple of days?
