The Grapes of Wrath?

One reader reported to me today that they observed State Senator Duane Sutton's daughter at the Gypsy Day parade in Aberdeen wearing an Al Hoerth t-shirt and handing out stickers for same.

They were kind of surprised, because they thought she was a member of the Teenage Republicans.
Of course, this comes after Isaac Latterell defeated her father in the Republican primary.

Perhaps young Ms. Sutton does not take her political marching orders from daddy. Perhaps she has her own set of values and priorities, and acts in her own behalf. God forbid that our country ever descends to such a state.

I thought also that she might simply have her own political ideas. Or perhaps she knows that candidate - or someone in his family - personally. There are many possible explanations besides assuming that it's a case of sour grapes.

Yeah, Little Issac doesn't offer much that a voter could respond to. He's pro life... we sure need more of those folks in our State government

Just maybe, she didn't support Laatteerreell in the primary either. Was it sour grapes then too?

Maybe she likes well qualified, moderate candidates. Good for her.

Is this posting only for arrogant, liberal, smart alecs, or what? Considering the antics of her father after he lost, it most likely is sour grapes.

PP. Holy Hell! You are among the cheapest creeps out there, and I love it. Keep speaking for the Republicans, you're just priceless. I mean priceless. You seek some sort of "truth" that most folks just couldn't care less about. Well done!

can no one put their name to anything anymore?

Aside from that, I wasn't taking a position on anything one way or another. I was just reporting what was observed.

You'll know when I'm editorializing.

If this girl goes to Aberdeen Central, she is probably acquainted with both Al Hoerth and Burt Elliott. They are both highly respected as teachers of government, among other subjects, and are looked upon as trustworthy and responsive.
The young person may well be impressed with the person.

First of all please leave young Ms. Sutton alone. Isn't it nice to see young people making their own decisions?

Second, put the candidate in a car or on top of a pick-up truck so people can see who the heck he or she is and let the volunteers run around putting on the stickers, etc.

The only candidate out of all the zillion that were at the Gypsy Day parade that was noticed and made an impact was Mr. Hundstad - he had two entries. One was of course one of his classic cars and second was him riding on a motorized scooter with a big sign in front of himself and he was definately noticed.

The other candidates were running, trying to breathe and maybe slap a quick sticker as they were racing to keep up. Remember how Tom and Linda DAschle would do a parade? EVERYONE saw them and knew they were at the parade.

I'm just pleased to see a young person taking an interest in our state's legislative process. For those who would take shots at a young girl, regardless of whom her father might be, I say SHAME ON YOU ... and the horse you rode in on!

Setting parties aside, maybe Ms. Sutton has noticed that Isaac Latterell is a joke.

One issue candidates are a joke.

If Mr. Latterell is a joke and he defeated a well-established incumbent, what does that make the well-established incumbent? Maybe, just maybe, Mr. Latterell is solid. After watching his clip on sdpb.org, I'd say that's the case. Apparently he's not a one-issue candidate. His two-minute address showed vision & wisdom.
