Is somebody actually taking this with any seriousness at all?

You have got to be kidding me. And not just a little. According to the Argus' website tonight, Elijah Page wants a guitar:
Elijah Page, whose execution was abruptly halted last month by Gov. Mike Rounds, now wants to learn how to play the guitar.

“He wants to learn, just to give him something to do for the next 10 months,” said Pam Guettler, the mother of Page’s girlfriend.

“With the guitar, I hold a glimmer of hope he may change his mind,” Guettler said of his earlier decision to drop all appeals in his case.

Guettler said she’s been discussing the issue with corrections officials and trying to find a way to get Page a Fender guitar.
Read it here. And not just a guitar, but a fender guitar?

Instead of a guitar, I think they should install a speaker that plays the 1980's hit "Wake me up, before you go-go." And it can play that one song, non-stop until his execution.

That would seem more fitting than giving him a guitar.

Wow. Just when you thought that couldn't get any weirder.

A guitar says Elijah Page press secretary Pam Guettler. Wow. FOr hundreds of years the whole world has really had this whole criminal justice thing screwed up.

Has anybody noticed how the whole death penalty debate completely went silent about 48 hours after the gov called "time out?" The issue must either be completely solved or maybe people only get wound up about it on the day of planned executions.

How about the Beck hit that says, "I'm a loser, baby, so why don't you kill me"?

Hmmmm. I'd be curious how many other convicted murderers 1) have girlfriends, and 2) have girlfriends whose mothers are seeking to make murderers lives more enjoyable.

Those two women need to have their heads examined.
