Does this mean Republicans get to boycott ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS?

What is it about FOX news that makes Democrats so nervous?

Why would I bring this up? Why would candidates who are desperately seeking media attention otherwise shun a national news network. The International Herald Tribune had a story recently on how Obama (along with Hillary and Edwards) are shunning the network's offer for hosting a debate because....

Well simply because they don't like them.

A full year and a half ahead of the presidential election, the Fox News Channel has suddenly become an issue in the campaign, even as the network tries to cover that campaign.

A Democratic candidates' debate sponsored by Fox News set for August from Reno, Nev., was abruptly canceled Friday night with a statement from the Nevada Democratic Party and Harry Reid, the majority leader in the Senate.

But the reasons given for the cancellation — anger over comments about Barack Obama made the night before by Fox News chairman Roger Ailes — give short shrift to an ongoing online campaign by activists at MoveOn.org and by influential blogs like the Daily Kos to have candidates shun the Fox News Channel, which they accuse of being too conservative and too closely allied to the Republican Party. Fox News, which vehemently denies the charges of bias made by its critics, sees itself as the wounded bystander in a Democrat-versus-Democrat battle.

And catch the most recent anti-FOX bias on the part of Democrats in this article:
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will not participate in a Democratic debate co-hosted by Fox News Channel this fall, campaign aides indicated Monday.

The decision by the two Democratic presidential candidates follows an announcement last week by John Edwards, another White House contender, that he would forgo the Fox event.

The Sept. 23 debate, set for Detroit, is co-sponsored by the cable news network and by the Congressional Black Caucus Political Education and Leadership Institute.

Read that all here.

But then again, note the comments (In the IH tribune article) regarding those on our side of the fence...
And also, conservatives can play the same game. At the blog the corner, which is sponsored by The National Review, Kathryn Jean Lopez, the site's editor, posted this comment: "If this becomes a tool of the blogosphere — calling for boycotts — the right will be making noise about an MSNBC/CNN debate any day now."
Go read the whole article here. Do I think that's really going to happen? No. Or at least, I wouldn't think so. I would hope not. Because even the Republican presidential candidates I don't prefer likely have the intellectual acumen to face most any comer on most any turf.

The test of a leader is not how they respond in comfortable situations. It is how they respond in the uncomfortable ones. Because that's how they're likely to respond in a crisis. I want to see how my leaders handle the tough sells. Because iron is tempered by heat into steel.

Unlike the show of force by the Democrats. Who strangely seem to be showing a need to get out of the kitchen.

If they can't take the heat from a TV station, how can they stand up to terrorists? Somebody in the Democratic party needs to grow a pair...

It is not a matter of being able to take the heat from Fox RNC news hacks, it is a matter of adding credibility to their propaganda system by appearing on it.

Were it not for gutless news media (and not just Fox Propaganda), we would not be wasting money and men in Iraq. The gutlessness of the corporate news media is much more of a problem than the line of propaganda now rolling out on GOP fax news about Democrats lacking courage to be on Fox.

It is more appleas and oranges humbug from Bush,Inc.
