Ma, are you diggin in my stuff again?

(Hat tip to SD Progressive) In one of the goofiest stories of the political season, Governor Mike Rounds name has been drug into a California race as an electronic filing with the IRS for Governor Rounds has the name of a California Democratic Assembly Candidate on it as treasurer. From the Examiner.com:
Just days before a critical endorsement by the state Democratic Party, an allegedly phony document has surfaced linking a Democratic Assembly candidate to the Republican, anti-abortion governor of South Dakota.

The revelation has thrown into chaos what was a fairly quiet race for the Democratic nomination in the 12th Assembly District between Supervisor Fiona Ma and Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District board member Janet Reilly. The candidates are vying to replace Assemblyman Leland Yee.

On Tuesday, Reilly’s campaign revealed to reporters an electronic tax filing on the IRS Web site that listed Ma as a treasurer for Michael Rounds in his successful 2002 campaign for governor of South Dakota. The Web site shows the document was filed in March 2002.

A scanned version of the original paper filing of the tax record, which also appears on the IRS Web site, lists William Floyd Jr. as the campaign’s treasurer, but Ma’s name does not appear.
Read all of this strange story here. Looking at the document, It looks to be more of a computer glitch as opposed to anything else. But it looks like Fiona Ma's opponent is attempting to use the glitch to her advantage.

Despite Theron's comments that Fiona Ma may be involved with Governor Rounds in some way shape or form, I feel pretty confident when I say "no, there is no relationship whatsoever."

Aside from that, when you look at the submission date of the form, it's dated March 11, 2002. But the form itself is revised July, 2003. Maybe that's just the version of the electronic representation of the form, but the whole thing sounds like an old fashioned computer glitch.

So, move along. Nothing to see.

Why should we believe you?

I suggest you ask the Governor for his official response, since he won't talk to the Argus Leader.

Person who speaks anonymously, if you knew me, you'd know why.

And I don't need to ask him, although I might next time I see him.

And who can blame him for not talking to the Argus? They want to use him to help them sell papers, and there are plenty of other news outlets in Sioux Falls who don't have a vendetta.

Rounds being "dragged" in, not "drug in"...which creates possibly, other meanings.
