And the SDACO picks... Eric Erickson?

I heard tonight that the South Dakota Association of County Officials has chosen a new Executive Director.

After receiving qualified applicants from both sides of the aisle - and I know of at least two experienced politicos who applied (who had existing relationships with many of the legislators), they picked some dude from Florida.

Huh?

Apparently, they've chosen a gentleman by the name of Eric Erickson, originally from South Dakota who lives in Florida and wanted to come home.

So, let's give it a year, and find out some more. And maybe we'll see if the door on the SDACO stabilizes, or continues to revolve around and around.

Eric E. Erickson is not a "dude from Florida." He was a very active student leader at SDSU, including a year as Student Association president. After graduating, he went to work for Daktronics, and has been working in their Florida field office for maybe one or two years. But he is SD born and bred.

Eric is a smart, talented kid and he'll be a good person for that job - infuses some fresh blood into the Pierre scene.

And this isn't Eric's mother posting - I promise. I've worked with Eric and been impressed by him.

We know SDACO is in big trouble now - they've incurred the wrath of PP!

A third of the legislators are new every two years anyway.

Relax pp, they have retained Roger Tellinghusen as their lobbyist. He knows what he is doing.

No problem, Eric Ericson is so focused, he won't have time to read this garbage.

Welcome to the war college Roger. Good first post on yourself.

Signed,

PS-don't forget your clients interests if they aren't coinciding w/your own.

They replace the Exec Director very frequently anyway. Didn't get an interview this time, but did the last.
