BREAKING RUMOR: Herseth engaged?

I just had this dropped in my lap.

It's still at the status of rumor, as it has not been officially confirmed, but I heard from a very reliable source that Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth has/may be getting engaged to her boyfriend, former congressman and now lobbyist Max Sandlin.

Why am I giving this creedence? I hear there's lots of chatter about it around her home grounds, and among some of the DC crowd. It might turn out to not be true, but it's a little more than the average politico chatter - to the point where I think we can note it as something more than goofy specualtion.

If it isn't true, sorry about that. My source is usually uber-reliable, so I feel comfortable enough to go with it.

And if it is true? Well, then congratulations to the Congresswoman, and best wishes for the holidays.

Yes, it is true as they had a birthday party for her in Rapid City tonight at Prairie Edge and she told everyone there that she is engaged.

good job PP...you scooped everyone again

That's right, another tabloid gossipy scoop from PP. He's actually pretty good at that. And critiquing yard signs. It gets pretty funny, though, when he tries to discuss issues of substance.

4:47 - you obviously must have been on the receiving end, or you don't read very often.

If you have never paid attention, PP hit on campaign finance, long before the issue was in vogue. And that's just the start. And that's just a start.

I don't always agree with the guy, but he's got the best SD political blog for a reason.

This is 100% a political more on stephie's part.

Female Senators are NOT single.

Someone has their/her eye on a senate seat in 2008!!

Wasn't she engaged to someone else a couple years ago?

As a matter of fact, some female senators are single just as some male senators are single.

Best wishes with your wedding Stephanie! And someday you will be in the senate if you choose to run.
