A little bird told me that there's a Democratic candidate in District 33

In today's Rapid City Journal, Democrat Dennis Finch has decided to throw his hat into the ring for State Senate:
Dennis Finch, a Rapid City attorney and former South Dakota secretary of labor, announced that he is a candidate for state Senate in District 33.

Finch, a Democrat, has lived in Rapid City since 1978 and is the senior partner in Finch, Bettmann, Maks & Hogue law firm.

District 33 consists of Rapid City suburbs, including Box Elder, Black Hawk, Ellsworth AFB, Johnson Siding, Countryside, Lakota Homes, Mall Ridge and communities along Nemo Road, Rimrock Highway and Sheridan Lake Road.

“We need some fresh blood in Pierre,” Finch said. “It’s time our legislators advocate for South Dakota families and wage earners, especially in the areas of education, health care and economic development.”

Finch favors enhanced funding for education, particularly teacher salaries, and a reduction in administrative costs, promoting consolidation of school districts as necessary.
