Working on it - I think I can get my hands on the all time funniest KELO blooper

I made a phone call while I was on the road tonight, and I'm going to attempt to get a copy of the all time funniest South Dakota TV News Blooper as "oopsed" by KELOland. It's several years old, but it's still al classic.

I think it was Angela Kennecke reading the news, and as she read it, a news footage clip was shown.

A horribly wrong clip, I might add. Not just a little wrong, but as incredibly inappropriate as possible.

Viewers were treated to Steve Hemmingsen with a deer in the headlights look, and I think we also catch him making a slashing motion across his neck as if to say "oh my god, cut from the clip."

I'm going to try to have it before the election, and if I can, it's well worth the laugh.

As the only South Dakota blogger out with 5 daughters, I feel I need to weigh in on the whole discussion that's occurring with regards to the HPV vaccine, and Governor Rounds' proposal to make it available. My family (including my three oldest girls) watched my mom, their grandmother, succumb slowly and painfully to cancer which spread throughout her body. If a similar fate from a different type of cancer was preventable through a simple shot, why wouldn't anyone advocate for it? At the age most of my kids are going to be getting it, they're still playing with barbies, and negative influences such as most of the programming on MTV, and other assorted trashy television is verboten in my house. All they're going to know about this vaccination is that it's a shot, just like for teatnus or measles. They'll go "Ow, I don't want a shot," and that will be it. Just another mark on their vaccination record. One check box for DPT, one for HPV, and so on...

Otherwise known as "What not to do in a fundraising letter."

This one is from Sioux Falls, but I've also seen a few people in Pierre who have gotten it (an attorney or two). I've got to say that without a doubt this is one of the worst fundraising letters I've run across this year. It's not just that it says "Dear friends." Bleaugh. It's not just that it doesn't ask for an amount and you can barely tell that it's a fundraising letter. It's an entire letter of poison prose.
