Not enough time in the day...

Hey -

I got quite a few pictures from the event last night, which Senator Thune unfortunately had to miss, but he sent an incredible gift for the group to raise money with. Check out this book signed by 11 US Senators. In fact, during a vote I'm told you could see him on C-span running around and getting it signed.

I'll go more into depth about this as well as talk about the surprising numbers of potential candidates there including Joel Dykstra, Matt Michels, and this guy on the left....

I think it took Larry Russell at least a half an hour to get into the banquet hall because there were so many people who wanted to bend his ear after they heard he could be a challenger for the US Congressional seat.

I'll leave you these teaser photos, and get back to it this afternoon. I've got to run in the meantime.

Who is the guy in the pink that Maka Duta is talking to?

What no visit with the wizard? Bummer! SUX2BU, huh, PP?
Carnivore said…
You mean Thune was running around getting autographs during a vote? Nothing important, I hope.

Aren’t there actually more than 11 Senators? Maybe the rest of them heard about Klaudt.

What say ye, oh grand and vaulted PP? Thrill us with your acumen.

Ummm... what am I supposed to thrill you with? Using a pole to do the high jump?

The term is "vaunted."

PP dispensing grammar/spelling advice? This is too much.
Carnivore said…
No, the word is vaulted, as in lofty, superior, snooty.

And your penchant for dissembling is showing.

Are you going to answer my questions or not?

PP; is there a "boot n ban" feature for blogs? seems this would be a good time to use it. Banning some of these antagonistic ip's would clean up the environment a little.
Carnivore said…
Yes, by all means, ban dissent. It’s the GOP way.

Clean up the environment: that’s hysterical.

Why didn't Thune show? Does he think he's to good to come back to SD and mix with the common folk from time to time?

Senator thune junketing? What, couldn't come to see the flood zone?

"My house got flooded and all I got was this lousy book" PP can print the t-shirts.

And in other news: Larry Long throws out the whole sioux falls office full of perfectly good office furniture, desks, file cabinets, etc (throws them in the dumpster instead of selling them) and has inmates do the work.

Hey, why did he need new furniture anyway when the old furniture was just fine? Wasting taxpayer money on new stuff that wasn't needed and wasting taxpayer money dumping old stuff instead of selling it.

Your Republican government at work. Something to think about when LL comes to the legislature looking for more money next year.

Check out the photos of the dumped items on Todd Epp's blog or cleancutkid.com

carnivore 9:20, don't you mean "by all means, ban descent?" as in banning posters from descending into bolivian?

are you really mike tyson?

Thune was never scheduled to attend the Lincoln Day event. He was in Aberdeen earlier in the week for Boys State.
Carnivore said…
No, that’s a different concept: For example, prohibiting the further descent of SD into the abysmal socio-demographic morass created by the GOP.

PP will be burning up the thesaurus / dictionary.

So what is the title of the book that the eleven Senators signed?

Larry Russell sure gets under their skin. I wonder why?

The annoying little liberals posting here claim that they are not scared of him. They tell us to "bring it on". The truth is that if your opponent is weak, you should ignore him. They certainly are not ignoring Larry Russell.

If your potential opponent is an idiot you ridicule him. If he becomes your opponent then you ignore him - or ridicule him.
Anonymous said…
Not so, little liberal. You should just ignore a weak opponent. And now I will commence to ignore you.

I continually don't understand why people who don't want to stay on topic, who feel they are offended by PP (or his deletions), or are offended by the viewpoint of the blog continue to post. I suppose just because they can. Why don't you set up your own blog, do your own ranting on your site, incur the costs, incur the slander suits (because I am sure on your site you won't delete any comments), and see how many people want to listen to you?

I don't understand how anyone can look at the photo of Larry and not see a weasil - just look at how he is standing.

I'm one Republican who will never vote for him for congress. Furthermore I would be embarassed if this is the best candidate we can come up with.

10:12 - I said I'd do more on it this afternoon.......

(Busy right now, but I won't forget)

PP at 11: Ok, thanks.

The amazing thing about the people who claim to be "dissenting" here are probably the same people (libs?) over at CCK that eviscerate anyone who attempts to offer an opposing opinion there. Mean spirited folks I would say. They never have a lack of tolerance as long as you agree with them!

To Carnivore: I'll bet Thune spent less time collecting those signatures, which actually helped SD, than Miss Perky spent on the icebergs in Greenland!

They won't create their own web site because in the marketplace of ideas, their ideas have no currency--just like talk radio. Therefore, they will continue to attempt to undermine capitalism and the American way on your site, PP.

Their level and pitch on this site against Larry Russell is indictive of their nervousness, nothing more.

Hey Liberals:
Why is it not one of your candidates runs on liberal ideas? Is that because in SD you would not get a vote.

Make fun of our candidates because in Nov of 08 you will be crying. The Republicans are going to take both federal races. People are sick of the Liberal ideas.

Tax and give to illegals?? Only an idiot would think that is a good idea. (And so you Liberals will understand, Stephanie's buddy Nancy said that)

1:04 Eviscerate? That wouldn't take much.
Since you weenies don't have any guts to start with.

PP could ban rudeness without banning dissent. I am a guest here, and maybe PP knows who is saying these rude comments so it isnt being taken like it sounds to an outsider. But my guess is, sometimes PP is insulted, maybe escalating ban times would clean up the dissent to a civil level.
