Go send Bruce Whalen some money

As reported in the Rapid City Journal, Coming off of the Republican convention, Bruce Whalen is more than 2/3rds of the way towards meeting a fundraising goal set by the National Republican Congressional Committee:

Fresh from a feel-good weekend at the South Dakota Republican state convention in Watertown, U.S. House candidate Bruce Whalen of Pine Ridge is hunting for more than a pat on the back from party faithful this week.

He needs money, too.

The GOP challenger to incumbent Democratic Rep. Stephanie Herseth is trying to reach a $75,000 fund-raising target set a month ago by U.S. Rep. Tom Reynolds of New York, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Reynolds told Whalen and his campaign manager Lee Breard to raise $75,000 by June 30 and to expect some matching money from the NRCC if they did. As of Sunday, the campaign had reached $55,000, Breard said.
Read it here, and then Click to go to his website and send him some money to help him reach his goal.

Two words: why bother? Stephanie is unstoppable. I wouldn't be shocked if she wins every single county in the state. But, by all means, send Bruce Whalen money, and, since you're in the wise investment business, there's a boat thats being built and they're still looking for investors. Maybe you've heard of it...the Titanic?

Daschle couldn't be beat either! Tim changed votes after dark to stay in. Tom is still upset over showing Tim how to stuff the box.

Miss Herseth has a few items on her voting record that don't sit with SD people. One is allowing a person to take my minor child over State lines to get an abortion. I can't send an aspirin to school with my child but her teacher can take her to MN for an abortion.

That is wrong and I don't care what party you belong to.

feasant,

when will you stop caring about moral issues and work on what's right for society. keep up with your extreme ways, and you'll see the mainstream grow. history is repeating itself, and you aren't bright enough to see.

Do you think it is okay to take a minor and get an abortion without her parents consent? I think you are out of touch.

Do you think people want more taxes and more government involvment in our daily lives?

We pay more than our share and I think the people will continue to support true Conservatives vs a tax and spend Liberal and Rhino.

I sense a little irony there - "stop caring about moral issues and work on what's right for society." The concept of morality is trying to do what's right.

feasant...most, outside of SD would believe that if that Minor was raped by the same parent that notice would not be needed, that's what judicial bypass is. In SD I suppose that rape victim could just carry the product of said rape to term and then Leslee Unruh could raise it.

Who the hell cares about the state conventions of either state party? Blah, blah, blippity-blah-blah-blah-blah. Your blog is so cluttered with dull convention news and dull photos that Clean Cut Kid seems like a more entertaining alternative right now. Trust me on this one, nobody gives a rip, especially after the dumb convention is over.

Git on the good foot and back to yo' bad self. Make it shake, rattle and roll!!!

Anon 12:00am, Good analogy! The Titanic did sink, didn't it. Wasn't supposed to, but it did. Rep. Herseth is unbeatable, we think. Maybe . . .

anon 10:41. keep on living the dream my friend. Your imagination can take you anywhere you want to go. Obviously it has taken you to Never Never Land, because thats the only place where Whalen has a chance of coming within 10 points of Stephanie Herseth.

Larry Russell?? He is a fun guy to be around, but he shoots off his mouth and thinks the end justifies the means. PP can probably remember an incident during the '94 South Dakota Legislature where Larry's mouthing off to a Democratic senator nearly made the papers. Stephanie would have wiped the floor with him in the debates.

Larry Dietrich on the other hand is a solid family man. He had experience on the national and international front with the Soybean Assoc. He had "real world" experience vs. "Capitol Hill" experience. He came off as confident not cocky. Russell comes off as cocky.

Stephanie is a hard woman to beat. She articulate, attractive, and hasn't given South Dakotans a reason to fire her yet. Unless Stephanie really messes up, we're screwed.

Actually, I was not that far away when it happened. And it was hilarious watching intern Larry infuriate a senator.

I was a Democrat legislator in 1994. What did Larry Russell say to a Democrat senator that almost made the papers? I don't I've heard about this.
